I would have zero expectation that we would run a Baylor type offense with RG3 at the helm. That isn't to say we might not have some wrinkles. This guy is a quality qb.

Getting more and more excited about the possibility of drafting this kid.
I can live with Cassel another season if it means RG3 crosses that stage in a Chiefs hat.

Chris Meck 11-21-2011 02:31 PM

Well, I think we can all agree that a QB is priority #1 at least.

Caseyguyrr 11-21-2011 02:33 PM

too bad the chiefs will prolly draft a defensive end who is out of the 4-3

Yes, but I don't think Griffin needs to sit a year. His coaches told him if he wanted to move on that he had to improve on his pocket passing. He has most certainly done that. Also, the kid is bright. Already finished his undergrad degree and is working on a masters from Baylor. Baylor isn't a cakewalk type of school. So I think he'll be mentally ready on day 1 too.

Oh, and **** Mark castle.

Based on the past history of things, would it shock anyone if this kid has a great combine/pro day and gets scouts salivating and all of the sudden he rockets up into the top thee to five pick category?

He is getting a shit-ton of publicity after beating OU. The ESPN First-Take crew were all over his nuts this morning claiming he is better than Luck and Barkley.

There is no doubt after the combine, he will improve his stock even further and could go #2 in the draft, right after Luck.

Last year the two guys I absolutely thought needed that year or two on the bench to grow were Ponder and Newton.

Both have come out throwing far better than any expected.

I figured Dalton would be a solid B/U and marginal starter.

Probably why me and Kiper comment and aren't out there drafting.

We'll all have our favorites but the one thing I do know is that you can't have a QBOTF if you don't draft one...

No not at all. When they see his measurables, athleticism & arm strength, it'll happen.

hehe yup. I knew Dalton would be a good starter but I figured it would take a couple years. Being a TCU alum, I've watched him from his freshman year. The improvements he made every year and his attitude for me were enough to show that he was going to be alright.

Someone is probably going to have to trade up to #2 then, because it reall looks like the top 4 spots in the draft are taking shape. Colts, followed by Panthers, Rams, and Vikes in no specific order at this point. Panthers, Rams, and Vikes are probably not going QB.

Already there, IMO.

suds79 11-21-2011 02:57 PM

I don't see any need to sit him. We know he'd be far more talented than what we have now. Let the kid learn on the job. Peyton Manning believes in that philosophy.

There's never been an easier time to succeed in the NFL at QB. Might as well play him right away.

This is probably true...
