Justin Blackmon?

Trent Richardson is looking pretty good but RBs can always be found late.

Could you imagine Blackmon on this team. We would be so stacked at WR with no one to get them the ball. :(

You draft some anyway. There are more QB's out there than the top 2-3 talents in every draft. You need backups so that you don't run into the situation we've had for the last few years where you just have absolutely nothing to turn to and are signing guys off the street (Palko).

Stop spending 3 draft picks on an assortment of DE's and TE's every goddamn draft.

I'm generally against first round RBs, but should we be out of the QB sweepstakes in the first round, and Richardson is there, I'd be hard pressed to pass on him.

I haven't seen the combination of size, power, speed and athleticism he possesses since Earl Campell.

Adrian Peterson?

100% agree with this logic. If there's a guy you believe is going to be great, you make a move.

The good news is that there are a lot of teams drafting high that won't be interested in a QB.

Carolina, Jacksonville, Minn, etc

Could be costly. But get the guy you want.

Steve Young and Brett Favre maybe?

I'm not disagreeing with you, it's just hard to overlook the history of the Chiefs drafting of QB's. I suppose it needs to start sometime though.

Campell was more powerful.

The guys I've seen, only Jim Brown was better than Earl Campbell.

I'll still stand by you should draft your RBs late but I suppose I wouldn't cry over this move. The guy does have a ton of talent.

We know we'll need a RB in this draft at some point.

But still can't get around the QB issue. Eye on the prize IMO. We need to lose and/or trade up if there's a guy we like just out of our reach.

I don't think the Chiefs have the staff necessary to develop a QB. Zorn is overrated, Flacco is meh and Jason Campbell is shit.

You also have to figure in they were running over lineman weighing 250lbs at most. I doubt they would look so "powerful" in todays NFL or college game. They were just ahead of their time.

Honestly, we never gave Brodie Croyle the chance to succeed here. I'm not opposed to drafting a QB in the later rounds (no higher than 3-4), but if we don't, we should talk to Croyle.

Adrian Peterson and Darren McFadden come to mind. But Richardson is definitely a player of the "right 53" mindset. I wouldn't be OVERLY upset about the pick, but it would seem like a bit of a waste.

Outside of Luck, we MUST make a move for RG3 in my mind. RG3 is, by all reports out of Baylor, the best PERSON and hardest worker on that team. He obviously is goal oriented and acheives his goals, given that he graduated high school a semester early, and finished his bachelor's in three years and is working through his masters.

He is terrifically clutch. He has that accurate deep-ball which will stretch the field for our running game. He has adequate pocket presence and throws on the run extremely well. He keeps his eyes downfield and works through progressions while on the move. If there is nothing there, he has the ability to make you pay with his legs.

Granted, he will be a 1-2 year project in that he will have to learn to identify blitzes, coverages and learn to change the play at the line of scrimmage. However, that is the only way Luck is better than Griffin in my mind.
