Marty Schottenheimer/Brian- I think the father son combo would be a good move for Kansas City. Marty would straighten this ship up for a year or two, and then let Brian take over.

Someone is stuck in the 90s.

As soon as the season ends we'll probably hire a guy within the first week, even if it's just Romeo keeping his job

I wouldn't discount Brian because of Clark, now agreeing with the hire is another issue.

If we let Brian near this team it will be the second time we select a coach from the Jets that everyone knows is terrible. Jets fans will laugh at us, fans like me living in NJ will say its a terrible move from watching him, and 4 years later we will all be on the same page. Keep Brian the hell away from this franchise.

You've got to believe that Marty would act in the best interest of the franchise. He would hire a solid staff, and at the very least get the players on the same page.

There is zero chance Pioli would ever make this move so its moot. Marty S is more like Haley. He wouldn't be afriad to tell Pioli and his "Patriot Way" to shove it.

I think Mangini would be a decent option, because he would at least be on the same page with the front office, which hopefully will filter down to the team.

Mangini isn't a bad coach.... He was put into some impossible situations (Favre and the Browns).

There is also zero chance Marty would make the move. He is not going to work under a GM and neither is Cowher.

Which is why Pioli should be gone. How in the hell could he have hired Haley (who I liked btw) to run the team, if they were not going to be on the same page?

If I am Clark Hunt I would have to question my decision to bring aboard Scott Pioli.

Whether he should or not, no way on earth Pioli is gone so Cowher and Marty shouldn't be thought about. Especially if you actually want them, because you are just going to drive yourself crazy.

That will blow up in Pioli's face if he goes that route. Remember when Carl Peterson gave the HC job to then defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham in the late 90's after firing Schottenheimer? The Chiefs went NOWHERE with that decision.

When has Marty been a HC without working under a GM?

Not saying he hasn't, just that he won't. Even if he does, do you think he does so with Pioli?

I doubt they are looking for the same "type" of coach.

Miami looking for more of a high profile big money guy, Chiefs, not so much.

And here I was thinking there couldn't possibly be anything worse than McDaniels.

Guess I need to go apologize in Hamas' thread.
