Even with Tony healthy, I think we should be looking for a "basketball" TE - the next Jimmy Graham.

It's a crappy year for TEs.

and the second and third stringers that filled in now have some experience.
(if they return)

The Chiefs played all season without tight end Tony Moeaki and almost all of it without safety Eric Berry and running back Jamaal Charles. Each tore ligaments in his knee and had the resulting surgery. Coach Romeo Crennel said the timetables for each of the players was encouraging. ''They are all making good progress,'' Crennel said. ''They are all rehabbing. I’ve been told they’re on schedule as far as their rehab goes. Whether that’s football-ready or not, I can’t say that right now.'' But Moeaki indicated all three players would be ready to participate when the Chiefs begin off-season practice in the spring and for the start of the regular season. ''We had our injuries one or two weeks apart but as far as the big picture, we’re on the same schedule,'' Moeaki said. The three players are doing their rehab together. Moeaki indicated their sessions occasionally become competitive. ''In exercise drills, I’ll try to sneak in an extra 10 pounds,'' Moeaki said. ''We’re all at pretty much the same level now. It’s been real nice working with them.''

HOLY CRAP! Did Teicher write a story that contains actual 'news' instead of rehashing quotes from a press conference intermixed with statements of the obvious? It almost sounds like he picked up the phone and called Moeaki or something along the lines of journalism. Way to go Adam!

Cottam broke his neck and now is attempting to start a newspaper the homeless will sell on street corners rather than begging for beer money.

This is great to hear along with Brandon Siler coming back for a year we just got tremendously stronger already without the draft, FA, or cutting the 7-8 pieces of dead wood on the roster!

My Top 5 wishes

-A great RT
-QBOTF
-FB/RB to compliment and help Charles
-Great FS
-One dynamic pass rusher to compliment Hali

Do you think Houston takes the last wish off your list? While you can never have too many pass rushers, between him and Bailey and Gilberry, I think we might be getting there on the pass rush.

Which means there's going to be some late-round projects available.

If there is any chance that Coby Fleener dropped to the 2nd round it would be a no-brainer, but even if we had a chance at Levine Toilolo (6'8" blocking TE/4.75 40/with good hands) in a late round wouldn't hate it.

Probably better off taking a big slow WR and converting him.

I like Ladarius Green out of ULL myself. Should run around 4.6 and he's a legit 6'6" with a monster wingspan. He is 230 now but was under 200 as a freshman, so he has room to grow.

I tried to spark a conversation in DraftPlanet but got a lot of negative feedback.

Wouldn't mind taking Egnew late if he is around.

Yup. Never understood the Cottam hype.

However TE and RB are two positions in dire need of depth, and if either position were drafted in the 1st 3 rounds it would be a solid move IMO.

We were spoiled by TG for all those years, but now we actually have legit WRs with top talent, that are big.

I would agree with upgrading those areas, just as long as the first pick is a QB.

Hopefully Moeaki can stay healthy, because he really does have the skills.

Micjones 01-03-2012 10:46 AM

Those injuries were devastating, but they couldn't have come at a better time.
They had most of the season to heal and rehab.

O.city 01-03-2012 10:49 AM

The worst injury of the season was Matt Cassel. It happened at the perfect time for him not to be seen as the qb he is.

Now we have to suffer thru 2 more years of his bullshit.

Oh it's been seen. We just have a prideful GM who can't admit he made a mistake.

I think everybody in KC knows what Matt is.

If he can't admit he made a mistake why did he fire Haley midseason? Why would he bring in Orton to create a controversy?
