Glad you got to go. At least there was one Chief at that Superbowl.

He could have suited up that day and done no worse than the boys from Pile High.

Super Bowl XXXVIII (2003), New England 32, Carolina 29.The most explosive fourth quarter in Super Bowl history featured 37 points as the Patriots and Panthers traded the lead. With the score tied 32-32 and 1:08 to play, Tom Brady guided the Patriots 37 yards to the Carolina 23. Adam Vinateri's 41-yard FG with four seconds left gave the Pats their second championship. No extra credit for Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" at halftime.

In the super bowl, does the other team lose points when a field goal is made?

D? a fudging D? screw you, SI

This article neglects to mention that the 49ers cheated in Super Bowl XXIX (1994).

They cheated the cap, were busted, and docked a mere 3rd rounder.

Super Bowl XIII (1978), Pittsburgh 35, Dallas 31.

A dynastic clash was on tap, as the Steelers and Cowboys battled to become the first three-time Super Bowl winner and the team of the 1970s. Terry Bradshaw's four TD passes guided Pittsburgh to a 35-17 lead, but the indomitable Roger Staubach threw two TD passes to draw Dallas within four points with 22 seconds left. The Steelers, however, recovered an onside kick attempt to end the game. Dallas fans still mourn Jackie Smith's drop of a Staubach pass that would have tied the game 21-21.

I was at this game. A friend had an extra ticket after another buddy backed out. I was on an oil rig on thrusday in the middle of the gulf when the asked if I wanted to go....On Saturday we were in Miami. Great experience but sucked watching the game. It was in the old Orange Bowl and we were on one end about halfway up in the middle of a bunch of Steeler fans and my buddy was a drunken and loud Cowboy fan. Wondered if we would make it out alive.

No way the Giants vs Patriots gets an A+ from me. The first 3 quarters were unwatchable.

The pain caused to Pats fans puts that game at the top of my list.

Super Bowl 32
Super Bowl 23
Super Bowl 33

Are the ones I enjoyed the most.

I agree with them about the best.

The worst was without question the Pittsburgh Seattle one, 2005. Worst officiated game ever, all the poor officiating favored the Steelers, and they win on the back of PI calls and in spite of a terrible performance by their QB. That one was the worst by far, it's the only one where there is no question the officiating changed the outcome. That was the only time I have ever really wondered if some games in the NFL were rigged.

It just wasn't a very pretty game. Ben Roethlisberger went 9/21 passing, 0 TD, 2 INT... and they still won the game. People will never remember that though, just that he won.

This

It was also nice to see a good defensive struggle that put all of the casual fans in their place.

....yeah, ok, we're living the life. But we're loving it! At least I am!!

:D

Enjoy it, because soon it will back to normal for you. Pats are going to lose another SB and Brady is getting old just the Celtics. I'll call it right now. This is the last time you will see a Boston team in the big game for the next 15 years.

Is this the time that I say something like "well, even if it's double that it will be sooner than it has been for the Chiefs..."

Nah, that'd be too mean.

Anyway, I do honestly think you're wrong. Patriots are reloading, not winding down. If Brady can play reasonably effectively over the next 3-4 years, then we have as good a shot as anyone in the somewhat weaker AFC to get back to the big dance.

This year's playoffs in the AFC had the Ravens (Lewis and Reed are also quite old, and the heart and soul of that team), Steelers (can't knock them), Tebows (please), Texans (rising power, if they can stay healthy), and Bengals (strangely, I'm not confident they'll have long-term success).

I'll take Brady, Belichick, two GREAT TEs under 25 years old, a 31 year old Welker, and a defense that really has nowhere to go but up, thanks...

Blowouts are boring. I'd be happy to have a low-graded SB for this Sunday if it meant the Pats were winners in a blow-out.
