Not true. Not even close.

Care to back that up? Buster Olney says he has.

That link doesn't have any info about where Olney came up with his 8% BS.

I'd like to know the criteria of "hitter" and "MLB history". I bet there are caveats galore.

every batter Moyer has ever faced

Elias is where he came up with his "BS.". Elias is one of the very best soured there is wen it comes to baseball stats.

But I'm sure you're right, and they aren't close to being accurate.

OK. So, he's faced 1419 batters that have ever had a plate appearance.

Show me the list of all players with a plate appearance in MLB history. That would be impressive and it would be WAY more than the number Olney is using. Of course, that number is unknown and huge.

Cool! Show me the Elias stats on every single player that has had a plate appearance in MLB history.

He's played in both leagues and in the interleague era. It's possible he could have thrown to a big number of qualified batters. 8% seems like a stretch, but who knows. At least 1 pitch to those with, say, 500 or more MLB ABs... 4% seems believable.

I'm not paying $20 to get access to the Elias Bureau. That's what guys like Buster Olney are for.

I'm betting it is right, and is far from being BS as you claim.

It is an amazing stat.

This. Buster is a dude that LIVES For getting retweeted.

There is no way, if it's minimum 1 plate appearance. The rest depends on how he wants to frame the criteria.

google Elias and scam. They will throw B.S. out there to have you look it up for 20 bucks. Fantasy geeks will fork it over.

The guy has pitched since 1986. I'm sure there are some crazy stats out there. Plus he's the first guy to play 25 years and play so many interleague games too. He has over 17000 plate appearances against him.
