The Chiefs would be smart to ease the guys into camp. Having a full padded practice on the first day isn't very smart if you are trying to prevent injury.

Gotta get 'em into football shape though.
You saw what happened when Haley coddled players to start the season in 2011. We got rolled up in the opening two games.

Yeah that didn't work out too well. I'm pretty sure that the CBA limits the # of padded practices you can have in camp. I think it would be smarter to hold off on pads for a few days until the guys get in a little better shape.

We actually want to see what are guys can do with a REAL practice! Not some circus for the media where there is no pass rush and trying to make someone look better than they really are...

See that approach is good for the Donkeys. But we dont have some old players that have had 4 surgeries lately!

It's only during regular season. Teams are limited to 11 padded practices in the first 11 weeks, and 3 more over the rest of the season.

Yeah I guess you are right. Couldn't find anything that mentioned the # of padded practices a team can have in training camp.
