12 of 28 teams used to be in the playoffs before Carolina, etc. joined. This wouldn't be that different.

We should make the playoffs so that the teams with the worst records make it in and to advance you have to lose the game. For the super bowl only ties are allowed because we don't want to hurt the feelings of the team. That's the american way these days anyway.

Yeah so lets let teams with .500 or worse winning percentage into the playoffs.

Well the NFLPA wouldn't agree to more games during the regular season. This may be the way the NFL is trying to get around that somewhat. More televised games = more revenue.

Don't like this idea at all. What makes the NFL special is because the regular season means somethings every game\week.

I'd rather see a universal bye week in the middle of the season. With an 18 game season make it two universal bye weeks, after week six and after week twelve. Do a skills competition (in place of the Pro Bowl) and local community service projects during the bye weeks. Also increase active roster sizes to 60 and Practice Squad sizes to 11.

This is a valid point. 12 of 28 is 42.someshit% of the teams getting into the playoffs. 14 of 32 is 43.someshit% of teams making the playoffs. That's pretty close. The downside of course is the 6-10 teams getting in. Feels like hockey.
