I hope so, but only because the amount of stupid shit I see on the road. Nothing gets me more pissed off than watching idiots drive. Grandpa doing 45 in the fast lane, morons who can't keep their A.D.D in check long enough to get through a 4 way stop sign in a timely fashion, idiots that stop at a light 5 car lengths behind the person in front of them, selfish assholes that while in the left lane cut across all lanes to make the right 20 feet ahead of them, rather than just going to the next street and turning around, **** tards that make a right into the drive way that you're coming out of without using a signal so you have to wait there while this idiot is oblivious to what's going on. I could go on and on and on.

Why not have them drive cars for us?

Actually, this would be a good thing. With the epidemic of idiots talking and/or texting while driving causing accidents, this would help to stop some of that.

I have said this for years, we need to have the cars operate themselves. This will remove the idiot driver who is drunk, talking on the phone, sleepy, just an idiot that doesn't know how to drive.

Also, think of all the police hours that will be freed up to do something other than traffic detail! Of course the court systems will lose a large revenue stream.

Yes it would do that. But an easier and cheaper solution is to actually make people learn to drive before handing them a driver's license.

Self driving cars running over people was what part of the book Robopocalypse was about.

Because that contraption cant drive a drunk guy home from his gf's house & let him shoot his other gf & mother of his baby 9 times.

Great all we need now is for the govt to take control of this and just turn off your car and prevent you from going anywhere just like OnStar can.

Better yet - think of all the jobless people that cant afford a car that will get one from said govt!
