Good QB + Good HC = Winning in the NFL.

jspchief 01-22-2013 08:46 AM

It helps to get your drafts right in the years when you are bad. Patrick Willis, Crabtree, Smith, Davis, etc. They hit on a lot on their draft picks in the top 15.

Can we say the same? Tjax, Dorsey, Poe... Ugh **** kill me

I can think of no less than 4 ways it could be.

Perhaps I should switch professions...

Not at all, I want more than anything for the Chiefs to do something spectacular but history has shown that they get our hopes us every year, only to let us down.

I hope I'm wrong but, 40 years of being a Chiefs fan has made me a realist

Great QB play > HC > anything else on team.

Remember...

Dorsey said, "I am going to do everything within my God-given ability that we have as competitive as a team in the NFL as anyone in the NFL. I want to remind them. Please be patient. This is not a sprint. It is a marathon."

and

Reid said, "Before I interviewed with the Chiefs, I looked at every snap from every [Kansas City] game this year. Special teams were average. The talent overall, it looked to me like they were transitioning from an older team to a younger one. And I thought, 'With a couple, three drafts, very good things can happen here."

Expect this to take some time. We are picking first for a reason and it's not just because of the QB.

Coachspeak.

Underpromise, overdeliver.

This team, with the right decision at QB, could be in the playoffs NEXT YEAR.

In fact, I expect it. That's why we hired a seasoned and accomplished guy like Reid.

The whole problem this year was having a piss-poor QB and Piss poor coaching that compounded the problem.

Any coach with any original thought was purged from the staff...

Chiefs have had some bad picks, but they have also hit on many...just like any team.

Marty was another guy who was able to turn a program around quickly.

Find the right coach, staff and QB.

People with attitudes like that piss me off.

It's pretty ****ing stupid to hold Andy Reid and John Dorsey accountable for the sins of Carl Peterson, Scott *****, Herm Edwards, Todd Haley, and all of the others who used to run this franchise.

The new brain trust is not to blame for the failures that took place here in the past. If you expect the worst, you have a loser mentality.

By the same token if you expect the best and get the worst you probably throw a hissy fit tantrum like Jim harbaugh.

The 49ers proved it. From 2003 to 2010 they were 46-82. Last two seasons: 24-7-1 with obvious playoff wins and a SB appearance.

Hire the right people, stack your team in the right positions. let them roll.

Obvious thread is obvious......

You are not detail oriented.

Marty turned it around quickly using mostly the previous regime's draft picks as well as hitting on Derrick Thomas.

Marty's first few drafts were pretty horrible actually.

Yep.

It doesn't take 2-3 years to find a QB, CB, and one extra playmaker on defense, which is all we need in addition to a good coach to make the playoffs again. Especially in the weak-ass AFC.

And it really helps to have the #1 overall pick in tracking down that QB.

Hey, wait a second. Don't we have the #1 overall pick? And didn't we just hire Andy Reid?

Well **** my jeans. Looks like we're in pretty good shape to bounce back to above 8-8 in this first year of our "rebuild." How d'ya like that?

How many times have John Dorsey and Andy Reid let you down?
