Matt Cassel's reported $4M deal with Vikings is greater than QBs Christian Ponder/Joe Webb combined in 2013 http://www.spotrac.com

LOL Vikings suck.

Buck 03-14-2013 08:46 PM

Maybe it's 2 years, $4 mil? Still more than he is worth.

TLO 03-14-2013 08:47 PM

Not really a surprising move. Good riddance.

Bump 03-14-2013 08:48 PM

I'm envisioning a lot of dumbass Vikings true fans (every team has theirs) being all like HE MADE THE PRO BOWL IN 2010!! WOO HOO!! I BET HE'LL DO AWESOME HERE. PLUS HE WAS 11-5 WITH THE PATRIOTS. TOM BRADY WOULD SUCK ON THE CHIEFS LOLOLOLOL. SUPERBOWL HERE WE COME

Sad part? it's probably all true.

Adam Schefter was saying Cassel will be the starter by midseason.

Wasnt there alot of disappointment with Ponder last year? Wait until he slumps and Vike fan starts calling for Cassel to start.......ROFL

Wouldn't doubt it. Not because he deserves to be the starter, but because Ponder is just that bad and they'll make the move to Cassel. Kinda like the Chiefs did with Quinn. Quinn was far worse than Cassel but because Cassel was playing horrible they just went with it.

I'm told Matt Cassel's contract with #Vikings is indeed a two-year pact. Reports of $4 million a year are at least a little high.

Vikings radio guys

Yes, but Cassel can bail after one season so it may be a year deal.

God speed, Matt Cassel. I hope you find your career reborn.

I just don't see it happening, man.

aside from his season in new england, cassell has played on horrible chiefs teams. who really knows what his potential is? this is a great signing, if not for anything it will push the bum ponder to actually start living up to expectations?

Viking fans at the board are not all idiots. There are a few, though:

Quote:

Matt Cassell also lead the Chiefs to the playoffs in 2010 and took over the Patriots and went 11-5. He does have a track record for success, while Ponder has a track record for frustrating people."

"Unfortunately I can only echo this sentiment, it wasn't even as though he was surrounded by an exceptionally poor supporting cast. ."
Quote:

"9 more touchdowns and 1 fewer interception. Along with 200 more passing yards. I have a feeling he contributed more to that offense then Ponder did to the Vikings. (Especially considering the number of bubble screens!)"
Quote:

A solid signing, especially considering the alternatives. The best available, imo, aside from if Kolb ended up getting released. Definitely heads and shoulders above all those worthless bums that were listed off as possibilities earlier in the offseason."
