I still believe Geno is a possibility. ASmith is only inked for 2 years. Until that changes, I believe he could be meant to hold the spot while Reid develops Geno.

I think its possible that contract talks with Albert will be the compass for what the team does. If they feel like they can get him for what they want to pay, they examine positions other than T at 1.1

Do I think Geno is top of their board at this instant? No. But I don't believe they have decided yet what they will do, and it hinges on several factors.

In a real QB competition Geno beats Alex Smith.

Hopefully this "evaluation period" is when Reid figures out that Joeckel actually sucks.

We have a bad track record when it comes to fat coaches smiling and/or winking coyly about drafting a QB.

You know, this may be true. But did you see the man love Andy showed for Smith at that presser?

Plus, the Chiefs did not give up the picks they did to bring in a rookie for open competition. Especially, after Andy said at that Presser "Listen, Alex Smith is the starting QB of the Kansas City Chiefs".

Just to stick it in our craw, they'll draft Geno... then 30 minutes after drafting him we'll find out he's been traded.
