One of the most overrated players in NFL history. Received most of his hype because of the logo on the helmet rather than his impact as a player.

"Nine-time Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed is coming off a season in which he earned $7.2 million from the Baltimore Ravens.

Whether it comes from the Ravens, Houston Texans or another team, Reed wants a similar annual figure in his next deal, according to The Baltimore Sun. Reed's inability to find that explains why he's still on the market one full week into free agency.

The Sun also reported Tuesday that the Texans' offer to Reed last week was in the three-year, $4 million annual range. The Houston Chronicle reported the Texans and Reed's agent remain in contact at the NFL Annual Meeting, but a deal is not close."

Yep. Ive said it for a long time.

He was an outstanding cover 2 MLB, adept at run support, with the speed an athletic ability to drop in the deep middle in zone.

But I always felt he was lacking the qualities that most guys that get the hype he got had.

He never inspired.

He was just a guy that did his job well.

He must have gone black.

Yeah. Urlacher was a good player, and a Pro Bowl caliber LB for several years, but the hype given to him by ESPN and others made the general public think he was the heir of Dick Butkus or the equivalent of Ray Lewis, and that was just preposterous.

He was as probably as good of a MLB as Neil Smith was a DE.

I have no problem picking the guy up on an inexpensive contract to play a year for us. He may not have a lot left, but it still may be better than 30-40% the mike LBs playing right now. I would take that in a heartbeat.

Why haven't they put Thomas up on the Ring of Honor yet?
