honestly this statement is more racist than 'redskins' you god damn Jfc. ..you are that stupid. |
remember that sopranos ep. where all the indians were protesting columbus day? that was a good one

Redskins, and Chiefs are two completely different spectrum's of a race of people. One is a term derived from color of skin obviously while the other is an actual esteemed person among tribes. If you ban the word redskins than we might as well ban "black", "white", "olive", etc....

Did the Kansa people tell us we could name our state after them?
|
It's only stupid PC thinking if the Chiefs go down for it, but I wouldn't be surprised. Why the club is named the way it is and makes sense for those who know, but it doesn't help that they've adopted indigenous iconography to go along with the name.
Snyder would be savvy if he renamed the team to the warriors or something and either whitewash any association with racist representations of Indians or go out and associate the team with the military in some way. |

"Redskins" and that racist-as-**** Chief Wahoo need to go first. As long as the NCAA is doing away with references to specific tribes without their permission, the Blackhawk Indians also should probably sign off if they want their tribe associated with a sports team. Atlanta Braves would be next. If worse comes to worst, the Chiefs could always do like the Golden State Warriors and just remove any reference to Native Americans in their team logo. And I seriously doubt we'll ever come to that. At least not for a long time. |
He should change the name to The Washington Politically Corrects and the maskcot could be George Washington weeping.

My Grandmother is Full blooded Cherokee. She's not offended by the word Redskin. She said it sounds like a description. I'm sure there are some who find it offensive, so it will be an issue for sure.
