Both of my grandparents were farmers and I grew up working on farms and have seen hundreds of chickens and cattle butchered, but purposely mistreating a pet to the point of killing it is different than killing an animal for food. Pets are purchased or obtained for the sole purpose of taking care of them and companionship.

There's an article posted on this board about a cop killing several kittens with a shotgun in someone's backyard. According to Setsuna, there is nothing wrong with that and he would be happy to sit down and have a beer with that guy.
