If so, whats that tell you about his hand picked QB?

I don't think coaches change their stripes, I think we'll be a pass first team, but if Reid can tailor that to Smith's strengths it should be a good season.

That 3rd round QB was drafted with that specific offense in mind. Andy Reid drafted him to run that offense he had already installed.

No one knows what kind of offense he's installing here.

It's really just code for "we're not throwing deep."

Throwing deep is part of a cookie cutter offense? You learn something new everyday.

Its been something like 6 years since the Chiefs had a passing game, anything Reid does here has to be an improvement.

May be the only post you have ever made I agree with.

It's hard to go down any farther than he already is; I don't see him supplanting Sweet Daddy Hate/Lil Chiefy any time soon as the biggest turd in the cesspool.

None of the interview there. Bit of Jamaal Charles' bowtie, but no Alex Smith.

It's a portion of the interview in print. I didn't see any JC.

I think this is exactly what they're going to do. Reid's traditional offense with less deep passing. Designed to get the ball out of Smith's hands quickly, a lot of touches to Charles and other backs (I still think passes > runs by 6-8/game, following Reid's career pattern; lots of passes to backs...). The downfield game's impacted partly because Smith's unable to go deep, partly because they don't really have a dependable deep threat even if he could (Avery's probably the closest). I think the tight ends will be favorable matchups in the intermediate game, as will Bowe. And I think we may see a lot of McCluster early on, then he'll get cycled out gradually.

He mentioned the video, so I was referring to that.

Oh God, we are so screwed.
