Did you get the reference? That may be too old for some people.

I find it kind of weird that people say this a lot. It's like saying "I Love Lucy" is before a certain generation's time. You don't have to necessarily live history to know about it.

Sorry, just an observation, not a criticism.

I don't remember their ever being reruns of The Ed Sullivan Show

penbrook 08-15-2013 04:16 PM

Good thing is that Guthrie is 4-0 against the Tigers since joining the Royals rotation.

No, I agree totally. There should be a common, shared cultural knowledge. For instance, I know a lot about 1940s pop culture by watching tons of Warner Bros. cartoons as a kid in the 1970s.

However, I also realize the reality is a lot of folks these days don't do that, so I went for the lowest common denominator assumption in my reply to him -- as I have seen lots of folks on CP say, "Huh, before my time" to certain references.

In. Are we serious? Five games to show we belong. Minimum 4-1.

That would be sweet, I would be thrilled with us on top of a 3-2 split.

Oakland has already won and the Yanks have lost today.

In NFL terms, this is week 15 and the Royals are 8-7

TLO 08-15-2013 04:58 PM

In for disappointment.

Can't help but be excited for this series though.
