Holy !@#$, Mike Anderson was black? The dude's name is Mike Anderson! He could only sound whiter if his name was John Smith...or Peyton Hillis.

I don't think it's racist, but I think this should be proof that Rat has no ****ing clue what he's doing when it comes to QBs. This has always been the case with him, too, I think.

Wasn't the Jake Plummer experiment his idea?

Meanwhile back in the day Irvin stabbed a teammate in the neck because a rookie took his seat in the team barber's chair. The guy almost died and Irvin paid him off not to file charges.

Hes such a loud mouthed pos. Can not stand to look or listen to that ****in asshole.

Reason why RG3 is getting this treatment is because either the rat never wanted RG3 and it was a Snyder move all the way and the rats days are numbered or it could just be because they struck gold on 2 qbs in one draft and just so happens one of them is playing like shit.

Both of them are playing like shit.

Cousins had one good game last year. He has not been good in relief of RGIII and just lead his team to a loss in a battle of 3-10 teams.

They suck and it starts with a coach who's half assing it and feeding the media negative stories. I haven't seen a guy try this hard to get fired since Jeff Fisher was wrapping up with the Titans.

But I've found the treatmentof RGIII to be dubious at best, to be honest. There have been a handful of times where I've flipped to an analysis of Griffin without hearing the beginning of the conversation and could tell immediately it was him they were talking about because of the kind of vaguely dismissive language they used.

I mean they tend to stop short of saying 'boy', but it sure gets close at times.

My first reaction is always to dismiss this kind of bitching. And I agree he wouldn't be getting treated like this if he was performing better - his poor play is the root cause of the issue. But I do think there is some truth to the fact that he's getting a little more of the 'this kid needs to learn his place and shut up' treatment because he's a black QB. Wilson isn't getting crap because he's a minority that's playing extremely well. But I do wonder if a guy like Luck or Tannehill would be taking these kinds of arrows had they struggled like RGIII has. Tannehill's locker room has been a complete cluster!@#$ and we don't hear people blasting his leadership.

In this particular instance, I do think it's fair to ask if there haven't been some racial overtones to some of the things said about RGIII. Is that why he was benched? Nah, I don't think Shanahan's a racist. But I do think his PR has been disproportionally negative because of it.

Excellent post.

You can't be serious.

When a black QB struggles it can't just be a young QB struggling. The media always assassinates their character.

Cam was immature.

You know Cam?

Oh, right... you know what is reported about him. Cam was a young QB. He has to grow. The point is that this narrative seems to be saved exclusively for QB's who fit a certain criteria.

Was Michael Irvin high when he said it?

I'm pretty sure Irvin is high when he does anything.

Mecca 12-16-2013 11:28 AM

This is all Shanahan's ploy for another job, when he gets fired he has to say RGIII wasn't his guy and that was a Snyder move.

BlackHelicopters 12-16-2013 11:29 AM

RGIII is no Russell Wilson.

It's so much easier to play QB when you only throw 400 passes in a season.

Pretty much every QB in the NFL is asked to do more, and Wilson is showing people that sometimes less IS MORE.
