I do not think they necessarily held anything back, but I do think they packed it in the second half when it became evident that the team was not playing well....no reason to waste playcalls that might come in handy in the playoffs when the players were playing like shit.

I'm not saying that they laid down or took a dive in any way. But that doesn't mean that they have to give Charles 25-30 touches that game, call their best plays. How many touches did Charles have after the first series?

I would bet that Charles will have triple that # on Saturday. That's the Chiefs best effort. The best playcalling.

Jamaal has has averaged 20.5 touches per game this season. Against Indy he had 18.

No we got owned because we are pretenders and we suck and Alex Smith sucks. /cp

I feel very good heading into this game. We are rested and well prepared. I think we can make it to the AFC championship game at Denver this year.

We won't be in Denver if we are in the championship game.

We be in NE or Cincy, or KC.

Here's a wild idea.

Maybe the Colts are just a better team?

Love how we overlook their stinkers against teams like the Lambs.

tk13 12-30-2013 08:02 PM

I do not think they held back.

I do think they mailed it in because they'd clinched a playoff birth though. Which isn't okay, but I think we'll at least show up with more intensity on Saturday. At least I'd hope so.

Doesn't say much about us. They lost their biggest weapon for the season and crushed us by 16, and it wasn't even really that close.

Pasta Little Brioni 12-30-2013 08:03 PM

Unleash Charles and TAMHOUS on their asses.

TimeForWasp 12-30-2013 08:05 PM

It was cold and the 12th man was weak in that game.

Pablo 12-30-2013 08:05 PM

No. We were soft. That is all.

How many in the first drive? We finished that drive in what 2-3 minutes?

Lets say he has 4 touches in that first drive. Now you have 58 minutes of football and Charles touches it 14 times.

Again, I'm not saying that they tanked on purpose or they went into the game saying we are holding back these plays for the playoffs or anything like that.

But, I ALSO know that was some shitty play calling and Charles should have touched the ball more. Conspiracy? Planned? I don't think so but they definitely didn't empty the playbook of their best plays on that day.

Bwana 12-30-2013 08:13 PM

Nope but they played like crap. I think they will be ready on Saturday.

You can slice and dice any set of numbers to get the answer you want. The "holding something back" idea just seems to be more wishful by fans trying to rationalize why we might get a different outcome this time.

It's just much more straight forward to think that we had a bad game that day and hope that we play better on Saturday.
