The AFC is a weak conference right now, so he really didn't drag that team to the SB.

No it's not. Look at the list those with the best records are the usual suspects in the GOAT argument.

Qbs can win games by simply staying out of the way, and lose by playing a perfect game.

Based on those numbers, Terry Bradshaw is the greatest QB in NFL history.

Bart Starr should be considered as well

I think "staying away" is the wrong word to use. I don't think a conservative approach or "game management" (I hate the way that term is used) where the QB is going three and out all the time is going to work... especially in the playoffs.

But if a QB manages the game by moving the sticks consistently, setting up good field position, and turning it on in the 4th when the game is really on the line... I like that type of QB a lot better than a QB who can put up a lot of points early.

It's what enfuriates me about people knocking on really good game managers and also commenting on how guys like Eli and Flacco are a product of their supporting cast.

There were 11 teams in the AFC with better scoring defenses.

There were 7 teams in the AFC with better run games.

Why did Denver win the Lamar Hunt trophy?

As far as regular season goes. I still say Marino is the best. Give Marino todays rules and I bet he would have at least one 65+ TD season.

His playoff record is not so great as well being 8-10.

I seem to remember you not being quite so down on your defense and run game earlier this year.

And check out the number of one-and-dones he's got to go with that.

Top 5 at best for 5head. I put Unitas,Starr,Montana,Brady ahead of him. He is in next group with Farve and Marino.
