Pikachu cards were common. Nobody needed to trade for a Pikachu, ever. Besides, it was a bad card that no one played, anyway.

I haven't. I've kept to hardtails, perhaps because the first of the full suspension bikes were so awful. Felt like I could generate better power without the mashing. I guess the lockouts help a ton too. I've also dropped a bit in terms of weight (used to be around 225/230, dropped to 175 right after I went vegan and now I'm back up to 200 and have been holding there for the last four/five months now) so I imagine that helps in terms of mushing on the rear suspension.

I'd like to get a little list of about five to seven bikes that fit the bill and then try to give them a serious test drive.

Full suspension has come a long way. And the bigger you are the more it seems to help. My buddy I ride with is 6'1" and weighs 260-275. He could never keep up with me (Im 5'11" 180) but once he bought his Kona I have to work keep up with him now. I'm in better shape but his bike is quite a bit better than my hardtail Trek.

I don't even know what that was, although I am about as big as that guy. But I'm also a cyclist, primarily between March and November and then weather permitting during the winter.

I traded away a pinsor one time. I never knew how valuable it was until later in my life I realized i had never been able to find one again

I'm adding the Fezzari Alta Peak to the list.

A direct from manufacturer bike that has some really nice componentry for the price point. Looks like they are also full on the 27.5 bandwagon. Total redesign for the 2014 line with SRAM X9 derailleurs. $1,949.

http://www.fezzari.com/img/products/...-peak-side.jpg

Seems that this (27.5/650b) is going to be the new standard going forward for mens mountain bikes.

Bikes on the short list so far:

Jamis Nemesis 650
Kona Precept DL
Fezzari Alta Peak

Looking for additional suggestions.

 I resemble this remark.

I second the used thing. Few years back I got a 1.5 year old Gary Fisher Hi Fi Pro 29er for $1600 that was $3200 new. There's a lot of wealthy hardcore cyclists out there looking to upgrade every couple of years.

Yeah and a new seat is cheap! I mean who would buy a used bike at 1500 and worry about a 80.00 seat. You get the deal on the used and driving that bike home you chunk the seat in the nearest ditch and stop at the Bike shop. The strange sweaty hairy ball problem solved.

Giant bikes are awesome, just purchased one a few weeks ago. Excellent bike.
