Ignorant? So you extend him and throw him big money based off one season? That's ignorant if you ask me. He doesn't deserve shit.

He's played well for 3 seasons in a row. Your shtick is tired.

Alex Smith has played well the last 3 years.

The games after the bye this last year just showed that the guy can play at a higher level than most of us ever thought he could.

I'd love to hear about the guy getting a reasonable extension, but the way everything is setting up makes it seem like he and Condon are asking for top dollar and I don't think he is worth that until he shows he can perform at the level he played at after the bye week for a whole season.

If he does, they should pay the man next offseason.

Jmo.

Wish? It's a fact, he sucks balls. Look at who we played and the backup QBs we faced.

That's about our defense. It has little if anything to do with what Alex Smith did.

The fact is, the dude got hot in the second half of the season, and nailed it in the playoff game. It takes a little time for an offense with a new QB to gel, and that's exactly what happened.

It's not his fault the wheels came off the defense.

Wasn't thrilled about trading for him. But after this season and his playoff performance, how can you argue? Your just a troll if you do.

@SI_DougFarrar: Alex Smith might get $14-17 million per year in his new deal. Which means that if you stacked it in dollar bills, he couldn't out-throw it.

Iman is full of fail. Reaching twin dipshit levels.

KcMizzou 04-22-2014 09:52 PM

InMen, you do understand that QB's don't compete directly against one another, right?

It's not ****ing tennis.

BossChief 04-22-2014 09:54 PM

If Hali and Houston never get hurt against SD, I bet last years team makes it to the AFC Championship game.

I'm a little ashamed of myself. Low hanging fruit.

If it goes down like that, 17 mil per might seem like a bargain.

BossChief 04-22-2014 10:05 PM

Adam Schefter said on NFL insiders today that Alex will most likely get an extension before the start of 2014. That's interesting because we don't have much cap space left (around 5 million) and the rookies get paid out of that amount.

That leaves about 2m left unless someone else also signs an extension that lowers his cap number (Berry, Hali, etc)....that would mean Alex would be signing a contract that would have a low first year salary and bigger cap numbers in the future.

Not sure how I feel about that because if the total deal averages lets say 16 million and his first year only hits for 9, that means he would have to have a year or 2 with a cap hit near or above 20m.

Surely they're planning on doing something with berry.

BossChief 04-22-2014 10:11 PM

My biggest nightmare (that's actually realistic, too) is that Alex gets an extension similar to Cutler this offseason and Eric Fisher gets him on IR.

All the hating that you do pretty much tells us the TRUTH..... You're hung like a newborn (and that's prob generous) there's no way a man with a normal sized member spews this much hatred and stupidity. I haven't seen you add much of anything to a convo, aside from wah wah wah. This guy sucks, that guy sucks, this team sucks. It's ok shorty, I get it!! #peanutpenis
