No. You do not pass on a once in a lifetime caliber prospect at the second most important position in the game, unless you have a pretty badass qb prospect like Cam Newton, or Luck.

Look at the 2011 Colts vs. the 2010 Colts or the 2008 Patriots vs the 2007 Patriots.

Can you imagine a single defensive player whose absence would ever cause such a precipitous decline?
