Does this commonly occur where college teams can openly court a professional coach before his season is done?

If the NFL can court college coaches who shouldn't be coaching football... period. Then I think college should be allowed to court an NFL coach.

A bs rumor to up the price to the raiders.

Maybe, I would rather him go back to the NCAA instead of the Raiders.

I doubt it.

Colleges can and do pay a shitload more for good coaches. If Michigan pays that much for Harbaugh, they are getting an absolute bargain when you think about how much money Harbaugh would bring into the program.

Again... if Harbaugh doesn't take the deal, it's because of his family. He would be batshit crazy not to go to Michigan.

Huh the highest paid NCAA coach is still a million behind the highest NFL coach.

I think Michigan sources have confirmed it, so while it may drive up the NFL bidding, they apparently actually made the offer.

If you assume that the only money the college gets paid is what you read in the contract

Are there not rules in place that keep or try to keep the alumni from giving the coaches incentives?

There's no salary cap on how much colleges can pay NCAA coaches. So why would it matter if it comes from a booster vs. the university? If anything, the college would probably underpay because that salary is public. I'm sure the perks and incentives for college coaches is through the roof.

The B1G needs him like they need a cockmeat enema. He'll kick ass.
