Maybe in high school but in middle school they'll latch onto anything.

If I ever bullied a kid my dad would have beaten my ass good.

My son is short for his age, and skinny. Only 5'4". He's 16, and I worry about him because I know how mean kids can be. The positive is he runs Cross Country and track, so he can out run most bullies. :)

Nope nope noppity nope.

There would be hell to pay.

SAUTO 02-25-2015 10:49 AM

Mine too. I suspect that aspect was missing in this particular bully's home life.

I bet it's not. I bet that kid gets bullied plenty at home.

That aggression comes from somewhere.

I know you're supposed to let them handle it themselves but I can remember what it was like being bulled in middle school just because I was overweight. It ever gets close to what happened in this story and I won't just write a ****ing letter.

As you may already heard from Bowser, I have a huge head. I was picked on quite a bit. It'll all stopped my sophomore year. Finally grew a pair and gave a kid a what fer after school.

He's an 8th grader and he's 200 lbs. I guarantee you that this kid gets bullied for his weight and he just turned around and found someone weaker than him to pick on.

stevieray 02-25-2015 11:14 AM

but criime rates are down!

....it's unbelievable how violent our schools are getting..average of two school shootings a year since Columbine('99)

thabear04 02-25-2015 11:20 AM

I hope that 200lbs kid gets a beating from someone else.

It's insane that the school district heard about this and didn't do anything.

How many sad cases like this do schools have to hear about before they take bullying seriously?

This is going to be a really unpopular post here, but my brother is an administrator at a middle school and talks all the time about the fact that there really isn't anything they can do unless they actually catch the accused bully in the act. A letter from parents isn't enough for them to take action or they get sued by the accused bully's parents. Many people want to blame the school administration, but it's really the lawyers that are calling the shots on what can and can't be done. Administrators have their hands tied until they actually catch the act in progress. I've got 4 kids ranging in ages 6 to 17 so elementary school, middle school and high school. I've got at least one kid in each of them right now. I teach my kids to stand up for other kids who are being bullied. Get their friends to stand up with them. Make bullying unpopular for the bully. I didn't get bullied but I wish I'd have stood up more for kids that did. I was in position to do so on occasion (just teasing stuff) and didn't do enough to put a stop to it.

This kid suspended indefinitely or what? Parents def need to get a lawsuit going
