1987. He was a replacement player during the strike that year.

Same year that Dino Hackett rode in the back of a pickup with a shotgun, protesting the scabs.

The National Football League strike got off to a shotgun start Wednesday at Kansas City, Mo.

Linebacker Dino Hackett and tight end Paul Coffman of the Chiefs jokingly waved unloaded shotguns outside Arrowhead Stadium and yelled, "We're looking for scabs," before the substitute players arrived for practice.

"We just wanted to keep this as light-hearted as possible," Hackett said. "But this is serious business. This is our livelihood."

I hate douchebag union guys that do that. You should have known that replacements would come in when you voted to strike, dumbass.

It warms my heart to see Bono on this list.

Thanks Buddy Ryan D

I still can see that play in my head. The OT was running down field looking for someone to block. Only air. Hilarious!

I looked for the Boerigter play but can't find it. But I did find this one. ROFL

Buddy Ryan should have been fired after that play. Not after the season. Not after the game. After that play.

It's really cool to watch that play. The Cardinals had seven guys in the line, three linebackers, and a safety. The safety follows the receiver in motion to the left to take himself out of the play, and the leftmost linebacker bites on the fake and runs toward the left. The leftmost defensive linemen (in reality a linebacker, I think) bites really, really hard on the Marcus Allen decoy and flies down the line. If he had stayed at home, Steve Bono would have been blown up. Valerio blocked a guy on his way out and wouldn't have reached the guy.

"He was imprisoned for his role in facilitating a drug trafficking ring."

Wasn't it a car theft ring too?

Yeah, but I think that was mostly to transport the drugs.

Not trying to derail this thread, but I thought this was very interesting and thought it fit the spirit of the thread.

In 3 playoff games, Alex Smith has exactly 1000 yards (873 passing, 127 rushing), 10tds (9 passing, 1rushing) and no turnovers.

After reading all the stats, one thing is clear-BRING BACK LENNY THE COOL SO HE CAN THROW THE BALL DOWNFIELD!!!

KCTitus 07-07-2015 12:42 PM

I really surprised that during the Marty Era, the only 'longest rushing TD' comes from Steve Bono...No Okoye, Word, Allen or Hill for that matter.

IIRC, he was a replacement player during the strike. I might be wrong about that...
