That's chlorhexidine. It works along the same principle of killing the bacteria via oxidation, and both effectively form hypochlorous acid when doing so.

Besides, "bleach" is really 5% sodium hypochlorite.

I use bleach every time I do a root canal. It's a great disinfectant. Shove that shit down a nerve, kills everything.

Three things though, never let it get in the pts mouth around the rubber dam, never extrude it out the end of the apex (seriously, look up sodium hypochlorite dental incidents, it's awful)

And 3rd and most important, never say your using bleach. It's always sodium hypochlorite.
