From his comments about it, Reid RARELY lets him do it so he's pretty much relegated to help game planning and unit coaching.

He commented on it earlier in the season. Then a few weeks later we started occasionally seeing what appeared to be a completely different offensive mindset. Then it would go back to the maddening horizontal/negative passing game.

I'd like to pretend Pederson was behind the vertical passing. I'd like to pretend Reid recognized the effect it had and will learn from it. But the truth is, I have no idea. Different opponents, oline injuries, Reid's history, and Smith's groundhog testicles all could be a factor in this hair-pulling offense.

I just don't have enough information to give a shit if Pederson is here or not.

That sucks. Back to Andy Reid calling plays. :Lin:

Philly fans are literally already losing their shit at the idea of hiring an Andy Reid staff member.

I highly doubt the Eagles FO follows through with such a hire.

Yep, losing Pederson could mean nothing or it could be big. We dont' know who is calling what.

Lightrise 01-03-2016 10:25 AM

I've read elsewhere that they don't believe Pederson is ready yet. I don't see him leaving. He's better off not going to Philly, ever, and hanging around awhile to at least get a full year in with Jamal and Maclin and a bit better line. If that works out well, better opportunities will come his way. If even one person suggests he's not ready, then he's probably not ready.

If Peterson is smart, he'll stay where the long term guaranteed paycheck is. Whoever lands the Philli gig will acquire a dysfunctional team that gave away multiple talented stars the year prior. They will have to "rebuild" again to get the people that fit their scheme. And I just don't think the fans or owner will be patient enough to allow that to happen. The smart move in Philli would be to acquire a proven HC who knows how to motivate what they have to play 100% every snap.

I see Philly going into a drought for a while.
