Don't care

Demonpenz 08-19-2016 01:26 AM

Metallica is still pretty sweet. James looks like a bad ass older.

Gonzo 08-19-2016 01:53 AM

I kinda moved away from them after St. Anger. I liked the album ok but the drums were so over-bearing that it basically shit all over everything else.
There were a couple good tunes on that album, though. Frantic still holds up.

Anywho, this sounds like it might be fairly good. I'll give a good listen upon release and make a decision after a few songs regarding purchase.

They're still my favorite, (metal wise).

Nothing like 60 year olds putting out new thrash metal album. Amirite?

Al Bundy 08-19-2016 04:55 AM

I wondered why they re-issued some of the early stuff on vinyl and limited edition vinyl/live/CD and stuff.

Love me some old Metallica. I personally thought death magnet sucked ass. I'll give the new album a go but i'm not expecting much

Spott 08-19-2016 07:29 AM

They've sucked since the late 80's. Every album since Justice has been pure garbage.

Oh brother...you're that guy huh?
I'm the music director of Rock radio station, and when we do research we test songs based on genre...grunge, hair, industrial, millennium, 70s-80s and then the category of Metallica. No other band has a their own "category". They have been on of the most relevant rock artist last couple of decades. In other words quite the opposite of what you're saying.

And btw, it's been sport to hate on Metallica "bc their new stuff sucks" since Ride The Lightning came out.

Their tours routinely earn more than $200 million per year and they sell out stadiums all over the world.

And need a good financial manager. The Orion fest and that awful movie they made lost them a shit-ton of money to the point where stories were coming out that they were in bad financial shape and may have played Lollapalooza a couple of years ago because they badly needed a paycheck.

With that said, I am not a huge fan of much of their newer stuff but hope they do the US festival rounds next year and hit up either Rock on the Range or Chicago Open Air. I still love hearing their live sets. They were my first concert on October 29, 1991 in lovely and picturesque Peoria, IL. It was the very first show on the mammoth Black Album tour.
