How does one keep a sterling silver flask from tarnishing? I received a gift, 6 cool flasks where the base is a deer/elk head. I would like to use them often thus they will be exposed to the air. I also don't want to clean them with brasso every 3 months. I don't want to lacquer them like folks did on their brass beds either.

Could they be kept in an air tight display case? Right now they are encased with saran wrap.

Thoughts?

Apply liberal amounts of nonoxynol-9. For better protection the use of a barrier is greatly recommended.

Yeah I looks like it was free alcohol night and I didn't get an invite! :BLVD:

Oh and to answer your original question this is a lot of good information.

I use Renaissance Wax Polish on a lot of stuff myself and it works very well. (Anything from guns, to knives, to wood)

Red, thanks. Really. I have read and re-read the thread. I am glad for the input. I haven't gone thru the process...yet. Prolly will be in May. We have to keep up the appreances until her parents come and go in May. Son will be gone then too. What sucks, is she is prolly my best friend but I don't want to be celibate for the next 20 yrs. She has no romantic bone in her body (see jokes coming on that). Just sad.

I won't ever get married again..not at my age. Why? I can see us 5 yrs down the road, where she comes over to visit, and she will and always have a place to shack up, spare bedroom...whilst I and a girl friend have the master.

I am trying to be patient. She is too. We both know the end result, but we don't have to rush. We are looking at using the same attorney and neiher one wants a pissing contest.

Really in the end = sad. But we both have two wonderful kids. Can't ask for more then that.

I can't say how much you all, CP have helped me. There will be a time when the trigger will be pulled. But timing is everything.

i Reread the post i posted in this thread and though I meant it to try to help you, one really NEVER really knows the whole story - so If I may just bow out - I'd appreciate it. Another poster messaged me about my message and had indicated a few things that made sense.

Perhaps I should have PM'd the first message. Anyhow - all in all - I want what's best for you and yes I truly care and hope (at the end) that you're happy w/ life.

Best of luck and sorry if I came across as abrasive.

Boy, I never realized that Sterling Silver Flasks were so controversial!

Red,understand. Tough to view thru a keyboard. I know you meant well, just caught me sideways. I guess I caught you as well. No probs.

Yea, thread went weird.

Thanks for the ideas.

Holladay 11-23-2016 12:33 AM

CP...LOL. was going to go to Walmart, pick up some shot gun shells and clay pigeons for Thanksgiving. I thought, I remembered there was a last post about something to help the silver, I could pick that up as well. Then Googled

. Seriously, I was gonna go find some of that stuff.

After re-reading the post...that renaissance wax looks SUPER cool. It seems to have a lot of different applications. TC...too cool. Thanks.

I just read Spermicide and laughed.

You won't have to worry about any protein being left behind when she washes down the seed.

Rain Man 11-23-2016 05:47 PM

Isn't it the butler's job to polish the silver? Just let them do their work and don't worry about it.
