No way he plays here again, IMO, unless he re-signs an incentive laden deal.

Isn't his cap hit pretty high next year, like 9 million? Going to be a damn shame but I can't see him being here next year at that number.

See directly above your post.

Gonna be fun as hell to watch Hill and Charles together next year

Buehler445 01-09-2017 08:00 PM

Appreciate all the guy does. One of the good guys.

KChiefs1 01-09-2017 08:00 PM

Bye JC...loved to watch you in action.

I think this year ruined any chance of a HOF career. If you had been healthy & the Chiefs won the Super Bowl with you at RB. I think you'd have gotten in for sure.

Once an NFL player begins questioning his future, it generally means he's done.

jspchief 01-09-2017 08:05 PM

It'll suck if the Chiefs win the Superbowl and Charles isn't part of it. He's one of the good guys and deserves it.

Rasputin 01-09-2017 08:07 PM

There’s been speculation that I tried to come back too quick, or that I wasn’t ready, but I honestly don’t think me coming back to play is what caused this to happen.I think, if anything, I was doing too much extra work on top of what I was doing with the team and the trainers.

So basically he didn't listen to his trainers and did too much on his own that added the extra stress so he reinjured it. That's how I read that. Now that extra "work" took it's toll and he can't recover quick enough for the playoffs. So I don't see him back as a Chief and if he comes back to any team it will be limited action. He can have a burst but that burst can end badly for him.

Nothing will suck about the Chiefs winning the Superbowl!! ROFL

Perhaps you should have worded it differently. It would truly suck for Charles to not be a part of a Superbowl run for this team.

Graystoke 01-09-2017 08:22 PM

Sad.
I love what he gave the team. The timing is just brutal for him. Sorry to say but he's not going to be a Chief again.

GloryDayz 01-09-2017 08:24 PM

Needless to say he's awesome. We should all be sorry to see him go, but it might be time. If it's not his time, because of the time he's been sidelined over the past two years, he needs to prove it starting next preseason.

Ecto-I 01-09-2017 08:36 PM

Great read.

I think a big take away is how much pure, unsubstantiated speculation there is regarding injuries. Clearly, our staff is pretty tight lipped about injury status either because of privacy, strategy, or both, but it just goes to show that we really don't ever know WTF is going on lol.

On the bright side, Jamaal knows he won't be getting #1 RB money next year from anyone, so hopefully he chooses to "stay home" with the Chiefs at a discount.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-09-2017 08:38 PM

Charles is the only reason I continued to watch the Chiefs through the Pioli era.

I duno whom I'd be cheering for otherwise.
