He said he has spoken to league execs at the very beginning? Those guys talk to eachother, whether it's from the Chiefs or not...Cole has broken Chiefs news plenty of times before. He was one of the first to say that Berry was going to hold out last Summer.

I don't know.... if there are executives saying this, they probably aren't blowing it out of their ass. They've probably spoken to people in the Chiefs FO.

How are you so certain? You think Dorsey is above telling a guy like Jason Cole something on the condition of anonymity? Or maybe it was an executive from another team that had inquired about the availability of Alex Smith that gave the comment.

GM's say stuff like all the time to the NFL beat reporters, and all these reporters know better than to burn their bridges by naming who it was or what team they were talking to.

This isn't the same as the Dorsey to GB rumor. Cole had this rumor last year in midseason. Terez has reported information last year stating that this is Alex's time to do something.

Goddamn people...Alex Smith himself said that he wouldn't blame us for bringing in another QB.

Right now anything is possible but this is just a maybe report. League execs my ass. Until FA starts nothing can happen.

Reid has twice tha Smith is the QB. That is what we know and it sucks.
