Well it is part of the business. Some are just not going to work out the way everyone hopes, but even if the player is playing well it will not be good enough and there will always be that other player that we need and the highest paid guys will be looked at for restructuring and when that doesn't happen then to a lot of fans they just aren't worth that contract kind of stuff will be flying around. I don't even think it would matter if he was playing at an all pro level every year.

sounds to me like the entire team is trying to inflate berry's stock, as any good 'team mate' would :D

I feel this is a message from the team to ownership in regards to Berry's contract. As I mentioned before, not re-signing Berry could cause some major disruptions within the locker room. He is the heart and soul of the Chiefs.

That kind of message hasn't worked out well for the Chiefs in the past either. I am all in for Berry though, like in the past.

Larry Johnson and Dwayne Bowe come to mind. Justin Houston is in jeopardy of being another.

Yep, getting paid just hasn't worked out well for the Chiefs. I remember Dick Vermeil commenting that he didn't know what was going on with Dan Williams.
