Steve the shitters Fuller Over Montana

Blackledge Over Marino

DJ Over Aaron Rodgers

Passing on Wilson and Carr.

So many crossroads where the Chiefs could have been great and they took the wrong turn every time.

PM2 Over Watson???

ROFL

Fair question. I would have done the same thing- totally agree with the choice. But those two QB's will always be linked by this draft.

Marv Levy was a damn good coach who was fired too early by the Chiefs.

I believe he and his staff would have done a good job developing Montana.

As for Carr, that guy was worse at reading defenses and working through his progressions than just about any QB I have ever seen.

I said he was a bust waiting to happen when he was drafted.
He made his O-Line look far worse than they were.

He was sacked nearly 50 times in his last season as a the QB in Houston.
Shaub and Sage rosenfels were sacked fewer than 25 times the following season, with the only "upgrade" on that line being Jordan Black.

The Joe Montana documentary miniseries is amazing.

Tom Brady was in the stadium when Montana hit Dwight Clark for "The Catch."

Montana dodged a bullet.

Wow, just finished the last episode.

The Joe Montana documentary is required viewing for ALL football fans, and surprisingly, they devoted almost an entire episode to his KC experience. It was amazing. Some never before seen footage. They interviewed Carl Peterson, Willie Davis, JJ Birden and Marcus Allen.

It moved me, and Joe, to tears.

These are very good points. I don't think anyone should brag about taking a Hall of Famer in the second round or later.

I guess you could brag about being even more of a genius and getting the guy cheap, but that's a pretty spurious argument. It's clear that no one knew the guy was as good as he was, or they all would have taken him as quickly as possible. Maybe you thought he could be good, but that's a whole different take on the story.

These coaches don’t brag about where they drafted guys like Montana or Brady. They brag about developing them, seeing how their talent fits the scheme and then having the guts to give them a chance. Brady is probably a nobody without belichek. Who else gives him a chance? Again, with Montana, what a great a fit and the coaches recognized what everyone missed including themselves and developed him and gave him a shot. We did the same with tyreek hill. When we drafted him, all that was discussed was his beating his girlfriend while pregnant. Does Andy not get credit for developing him? Of course he should. These late round picks that are developed are a credit to the coaches and staff that saw their potential fit and developed them. We should brag on coaches the most for finding late round hall of fame talent. They saw a scheme fit and developed the talent.
