Seems dumb we just dumped Maclin when that group of turds.

Would of been nice to have him around sitting on the sidelines hurt when we needed him the most.

i dont remember seeing him drop anything yet... I could be wrong, but i dont really remember any drops so far, aside from the tyreek one on a screen vs SF.

Maybe it's just me but only person that concerns me is Conley as he has had plenty game time and not produced numbers or proven himself to be dialled into the game plan more by the coaches. Probably goes without saying this is a do or die season for him.

I like DAT to be a poor mans Hill this year and obviously for Hill to replace Maclin as a true #1. DAT now he is healthy has talent after the catch and shows flashes catching the ball.

Wilson until he proves otherwise is just average but on his day can be good, Robinson and Chesson I doubt they get enough chances to shine.

Wide Receivers, How Many and Who?

Just watched the game for the 5th time & Seantavius Jones had a helluva game.

On DAT's td he threw a great block & the pattern he ran for the td was perfect.

He also has a great body for a WR. I have the same feeling on him as I did David Irving. If he goes to the PS...we are going to lose him.

Rain Man 08-21-2017 06:42 PM

We have a very disproportionate number of receivers from the deep South. Half of them are from Georgia or Alabama. Isn't that odd?

jaa1025 08-21-2017 06:46 PM

DAT has earned himself a roster spot. No doubt. He was one I thought would have been cut going into camp. I don't see them cutting Chesson/

Going with

Hill
Conley
DAT
Abert
Chesson

Jones or Robinson...I can't decide. Probably Jones.

That being said, Albert *could* be a surprise cut IMO.

RealSNR 08-21-2017 06:56 PM

Fred Williams looked amazing in preseason that one year. He was also on his 3rd season or something like that in the league and had yet to really catch on with anyone.

I'd bet on Seantavius Jones being an odd man out.

Hill
Conley
Wilson
DAT
Robinson
Chesson

There are your WRs. Wilson isn't going anywhere. Reid loves him too much.

Kiimo 08-21-2017 07:01 PM

I will be extremely upset if Jones doesn't make this team.

edit: and Robinson can piss up a lightpole

I'm just basing my prediction on what we've seen in previous years.

WR is one of those positions that everybody thinks they know well. People seem to remember catches more than other kinds of big plays. The problem is you're only following the action of the ball, and unless you watch game footage focusing on one specific player, it's hard to know if the guys are doing valuable stuff for the team when the ball is not coming their way.

I'm not saying I know better than anybody else on here, because I don't. Well, okay, I know better than some of the butt****ing morons. I've just been caught too many times thinking random undrafted guys who looked good in the 3rd and 4th quarters of preseason games would make the team, only to be proven dead wrong. Likewise, those players with regular season experience who never really showed up or stood out to people the year before or in offseason practices are always the predicted cuts. Sometimes they are. Usually they're not.

Hey new guy, thanks for starting this thread, but you've got a lot to learn around here. Rational, productive football discussions are reserved for never.

Hill, Conley, and DAT are locks in my book. I think Chesson stays simply because he was a draft pick this year. I really like what I've seen from S. Jones so far and the coaches have mentioned him a lot. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Alligator Arms Wilson being a cut with Robinson taking his place. Look for Dieter to be a PS guy.

Not really. Most NFL talent comes from the South or California

Best22 08-21-2017 08:03 PM

What I want

Hill
Conley
Robinson
DAT
Wilson
Chesson

PS
S. Jones

Conley showed up big in game #1. He took a big hit that game so I think Reid took it easy with him game #2. Conley will be fine. He's going to have a big year.

Jones > Chesson, Jones is a better blocking, looks to be a quality special teams player and has good size and very good hands.

Chesson has good measurables

This strictly based on this preseason, not college potential.
