Andy's never had an itchy trigger finger so it'll either take multiple missed games by Smith and an impressive run by Mahomes for Reid to make the switch permanent, neither of which can be accurately predicted. This isn't Smith's job to lose: He's the starter this year. |

Good. We need Alex to be fearful for his job. Competition has already brought out a different looking QB so far.
He should play his best ball this year. |

Next article will talk about how he saved a bus full of nuns from dying because he got the extended TV package at the ATT store. |

if he continues to light it up, and alex falters in any way...and the chiefs are in the hunt...
it could make for that perfect storm where we hand him the ball in the second half of a game around week 10 or something...and see what happens |
I think they will find ways to get Patrick on the field even if it is some trickery play against the Donkies on a Monday Night. Andy Reid loves doing those kinds of things.

I think Andy Reid has made it very clear Alex is the Chiefs starting QB for this season. Period.
Andy Reid shot down any speculation that rookie Patrick Mahomes II might challenge Alex Smith to be the Chiefs starting quarterback. "It's Alex's job," Reid said. "That's how we're doing it. The next question is you come back and say, 'What if Alex gets hurt?' I would never say (Mahomes) can't do something but I would tell you in this case it's Alex's job. There's no gray area with that." |
