In short, the A Team asked if it was time for Mahomes. Terez got really pissed off and vocal, then handed it to Mellinger.

Mellinger was then interrupted by Terez, who basically said that there’s no way Smith is replaced. Mellinger said Pat is 3 years removed from high school.

Then Terez said Mahomes is gettting 3 snaps per practice, to which Mellinger nodded in agreement.

They went on to say the switching to Mahomes would piss off the Vets because it would signal giving up on the season.

I’m just reporting, not elaborating or agreeing.

Listening to that....all I heard was "2 snaps a day or whatever". I didn't hear a "I've heard he's been taking X amount of snaps in practice". I heard nothing official.

Dude, at exactly 29:13, Mellinger says he’s getting 3 snaps at practice and Terez says “Yeah”.

Very interesting that they believe the vets would feel a switch to Mahomes signals giving up on the year

I'd sure love to know what they know to say that...

The part about everyone outside of Pat's family not being excited about him playing this year really irks me.

And still to me....he says "He's getting something like 3 snaps in practice." followed by "Yeah...basically something like that.".

Players don’t think like fans.

These guys have been conditioned to believe that Smith gives them their best chance win.

Mahomes is an unknown to them.

There's no way that they watched what transpired on Sunday and think that Smith is going to take them anywhere.
