Like I said in the OP I never had gout, three different doctors were wrong. Partially torn meniscus, no surgery required. Not even sure how I tore it. Played flag football on Thanksgiving and that night my knee started to slowly tighten.

Crazy how you can tear something without injury or knowing.

About 8 years ago I tore my right rotator cuff, felt it happen lifting weights over my head.

Terribly painful for quite a while and by far the most painful part was the steroid shot the Dr. gave me. It hurt like hell for weeks. He wanted to operate but after that shot I said no thanks. He told me I would never be able to raise my arm straight up again, but I have proven him wrong.

Took a couple years but with gradually increasing personal therapy on and adding more weight it is as good as it ever was.

Torn , then severed in my bicep. Rehab was a bitch on both trips in but second was worse.

Welp, today I’m having surgery on knee. Never had surgery before, but I’m ready to be back to normal again.

Good luck man. Hope it works out for you.

Not a ligament, but I ripped my pec major and its connecting tendon clean off from my humerus. And I know exactly how it happened.

I guess my situation doesn't really apply to this thread at all.

But hey, soft tissue injury stories are cool!

OUCH. Good enough to share.

My knee is killing me. Doc says arthritis. Cortisone has not really helped. But I have been on the snowblower a lot. 10-12 inches in the last few days and I did many driveways.

Good luck on the surgury Inmen-The ones I have had made me feel better.

Had 2 meniscus repair surgery's (on on each knee). Both eventually went well. The last one Dr. said he took out 50% of the meniscus and stop with high impact shit for life or he'll be seeing me for a total knee replacement. I chanced it a couple of times but now-a-days take it slow and easy.

I SO wish I could chase a fuggin ball again. (I'm 41yo)

I was told Thursday I have a torn meniscus. Waiting for MRI on confirmation. Not a clue how it happened other than age. Also said atrophy has set in on quad muscle, so it happened a long time ago. I go from running 50+ miles a month to barely able to walk. The joys of getting old.

Tore an ACL in high school. Had surgery and my knee still kind of sucks to this day.

Don't play football.

Lex Luthor 02-26-2018 12:49 PM

I tore my ACL and my PCL playing softball when I was 22 years old.

I knew I'd done something pretty bad, since I had to be carried off the field. Doctor said "It's not like you're a pro athlete or anything. You don't need the surgery."

Two years later I had the surgery. I decided that having a very unstable knee for the rest of my freaking life wouldn't be such a good thing.
