ChUNT doesn’t like to pay for nothing. Reason Dorsey was fired.

$4.9 million is the net number if he's cut, as there is $2M that will hit the cap as dead money.

Hmmm what is the $5 million disparity from?

I think you keep Ford in the hopes he plays an entire year so that we get a higher comp pick in the future.

But yeah, I think I'd cut Bailey at this point, Hali is a goner, and I hate Sorenson, but he might stick for another year.

DaFace 02-26-2018 05:06 PM

I'm excited to have SOME space obviously, but the Chiefs are still bottom 10 in the league in cap space, and it's pretty likely that a third of that cap space will go toward replacing Peters if we have to bring in a FA to do it.

Yeah, much as we all want them to, it's a good idea to not spend it like wild men and get this shit in order.

Bring in some bargains, hope to draft well and see what happens I guess.

Might be wise to roll over as much 2018 space as possible and go all in for 2019/2020 FA with Mahomes on the rookie deal.

I don't agree.

I have no idea what the FA class is like, but if there's guys in this class that you identify as long-term solutions, you sign them now.

This team can contend for the division this year if they stay true with their commitment to a younger, faster, attacking defense.

Geoff Schwartz brought it up and made a similar point. Even if you wanna rebuild for 2019, get as many of the guys you want in here now and let them all build together.

The rolling over cap space isn't something that should be part of any plan. Sign who you think fits what you want to do. The cap is going up 10 million this year and will likely continue to rise next year. It's great to roll over a lot of space when you don't have significant holes and a defense that needs immediate fixing.

KChiefs1 02-26-2018 05:37 PM

Is it worth it to trade Houston?

MahiMike 02-26-2018 07:11 PM

1 more cut and we bring in Malcolm Butler baby.

Good point. I’m honestly not ready to completely chalk up 2018 as a transition year yet. The offense has too much potential.

But we certainly don’t want Veach to get stupid with the new found cap space. I guess that’s what I meant originally.

Yea it couldn't have been his spotty drafting record and his shitty contract history.
