2018 will reveal itself in time. For now I'd make the case for the 1971 team.

If we beat Rams in 2 weeks, it'll prob seal us as the top SRS for the year. Sagarin had us at about 1 TD better than the avg team, so he's much lower, but still we should do something we almost never do if we win that one

RunKC 11-05-2018 11:56 PM

1969

Win another Super Bowl and then we’ll talk.

Literally nobody voted for the correct answer. LMAO

I'm not down with the criteria on this one.

got a soft spot for 97. had we beaten Denver as we should have, i think we go all the way.

Yep. Now, that's assuming that we kept Gannon in as QB for the remainder of the season. Chiefs had already beaten Pittsburgh and there's no doubt that we would destroy Green Bay. Our defense would have killed them. In fact, that defense was so special, I would take one half of its talent and total production and trade every f****** player we currently have on defense to get that kind of production today.

1971

How could that team not be listed.

Because the OP is looking at SRS values.

That being said, it appears to me that the 1968 team is the correct answer.

According to PFR's SRS system, that year is actually NINTH.

97 should have won the SB. Probably would have if Gannon remained the starter.

Nope. The idea that Gannon was better than Grbac was a myth. The defense carried that team anyway, regardless of who played QB.

How was he not better? Grbac may have had better stats, but Gannon moved the ball way more effectively.

They were nearly identical in every category. The team simply wasn't any different with either guy.
