How would you prepare them? Just curious.

I eat them a couple different ways. And always looking for something good

Seared. Sautéed. I'll admit to not loving fried food as I feel like that simplifies the taste of a lot of things that succeed on their own merits.

Great produce on its own - whether it's a carrot or a turnip or lettuce or morels -does best when it stands on its own without a crutch. Morels in my mind are the epitome of that.

Sorry.. Your way may work for you but I'll never eat them any other way than fried...

Look. The fact that this mushroom has a ****ing (seasonal) thread on its own on CP is a testament to its greatness. I just view it a little bit different but even here the Capulets and the Montagues can come together.

I can see exactly where you are coming from. And I agree. I eat them fried and love them. I eat them sauteed and love them. I have seared them and love them.

Ive eaten so many they've made me sick before lol

I'd love to have some frozen Morel mushrooms sent to me.

Just saying...

Haven't had one since I was in the Boy Scouts. Damn good.

Where to track them showing up.....

https://www.thegreatmorel.com/morel-sightings/Still far south of me. Last year we hit them in SD on May 6th.

Wife makes an asparagus/morel quiche, as well as a morel/rice soup.

We've hunted them for 40 years and the best way we've found to keep them long term is to dry them in the food dehydrator and put them in mason jars. Just pop them in water for a couple hours and they re-hydrate on their own pretty well.

If it's as good as it should be this year I'll try to help you out

It's morely against my religion to eat mushrooms fried or otherwise.
