It's all noise.

There's not gonna be any kind of work stoppage, they'll cave on it and be playing.

this

So you think they are just going to willfully bend over for 18 games yet not get anything else they want?

They'll get stuff they want.

They got stuff they wanted last time, they just didn't realize the things they wanted were just "stuff" and not money.

Mecca 07-24-2019 10:35 AM

Personally I think they'll get more revenue but I dunno how much, they should be shooting for 49/50.

But some of those other issues I doubt enough players care for it to matter, the franchise tag affects such a small amount of people, the rookie deals, I doubt any of that is changed.

But they are going to have to be willing to give in on the 18 games to get anything.

There's way too much money at stake for either side to fully dig in. I expect an 18 game season to be a major point for the owners and some of the other stuff discussed in an earlier thread for the players.

BTW, when do the TV contracts come up?

Not till after this which is why the owners are under pressure..those networks paying billions are going to be ****ing pissed if they have no games to show.

I dunno, I guess it depends how big of an issue they consider these things. They got bent over on the last deal and they all know it.

If they are willing to give on 18 games they'll be able to get several things they want.

They foolishly focused on the wrong shit in the last deal.

It's incredible how much bargaining capital they burned to not have to do as many contact practices and get rid of 2 a days. I mean ****ing hell, that was just letting lazy run the show.

Title should be NFLPA.

It’s incomprehensible. And they all voted to approve it right? I don’t even.....

The real problem I see is that the entire galaxy knows that DeMaurice Smith got woodshedded the last time and, given that he sounds like a colossal **** every time he’s on anywhere I’m afraid that he thinks he’s going to “get them back”. Even though he has virtually no leverage.

Seems like injuries have gone up since they dropped two a days.

There are enough players getting hurt and being lost for a season with only 16 games. I love watching football but I'd accept going back to 14 to help the players stay healthy. I know that will never happen. If they go to 18 games, then make it mandatory that each player has a personal bye twice each year. That will never happen either but I am convinced the players are physically challenged enough as it is.

Figures, we get a franchise QB and NOW the league is in danger of missing a season or twelve.
