Hyde sucks. Why would anyone give picks for him?

People are going to shit themselves when the Chiefs keep 5 running backs

Reasoning why ? Just curious.

Because our coach is Andy Reid and he always does something like that, which we will all bitch about!

I still think Hyde makes sense because he excels in running and blocking out of the shotgun. He has a 4.7 ypc out of the shotgun. He's good in space, and while he hasn't had an opportunity to show that in the preseason, it's on his tape. As cut downs approach, injuries are going to allow the Chiefs to stash players that is healthy that would require space on the roster. I think Hyde makes it and we all bitch. But I think it makes sense.

Fair point and just for experienced eyes picking up the blitzes alone IMHO.

I run hot and cold on Darrell Williams. I just don't think you want to put yourself in a position where you have Damien Williams backed up primarily with a rookie in Thompson (who I love). I think that's putting a little too much on Darrell's shoulders. A vet like Hyde makes a lot of sense.

Hunt backed up ware as a rookie. He didn’t have much trouble doing the job.

Dude - we got lucky Hunt was a ****ing stud. RBs get hurt, are used a ton. Not sure why so many people want to go light on the position.

How old does a RB have to get for you to trust him?

It's not really about age, its about game experience.

Didn't the most recent depth chart have Hyde at the #2 RB spot?

FlorentinePogen 08-27-2019 11:08 AM

Hyde's pass protection is questionable, to put it mildly. These are 2017 PFF grades, where he ranked dead last among qualified RBs. In 2018 he was ranked 37th out of 49.
