-Take your age today and add 50 to it. That would be the next time you see the Chiefs in a Super Bowl if you had to suffer what us old timers did

-Also take your age and add 22 years to it. That would be the next time you see the Chiefs win a playoff game

-Lastly take your age and add 15 to it. That's how long you would have to wait just to MAKE the playoffs like we did from 1971-1986

Hope this puts a little perspective on how impactful this Super Bowl appearance and win was for the older guys around here........

I loved how a few Chiefs brass last week were styling in their Super Bowl IV suit attire at the game. Pretty sure Veach was one of them...

What's amazing about the 50-year drought is how often the Chiefs were a top 10 team in the league in the last 30 years only to collapse in the playoffs -- quite a bit unlike the Royals' 30-year drought.

Not only that, but I think it’s actually worse when you get close so many times instead of being a franchise like the Browns that is perpetually bad and the fans never get their hopes up. In the last 30 years, KC has been to the playoffs 16 times and had 5 seasons where they had winning records and didn’t make the playoffs, including a 10 win season in 2005. Those dark years between 72 and 88 haven’t left anywhere the mark on me than the post Marty/CP years have.

Wow I just relived 49 years of my life in 10 minutes reading that!

How we lived through that and remained fans is pretty remarkable!

Being 51 I, like many, suffered through it all. That is why nationally people have been tone deaf to the depths of pent up frustration so many of us had.

This is all Andy Reid. The hunts are great but they are loyal to a fault. We've had great coaches who couldn't change who they were. Andy Reid deserves a ton of credit for that. He has a ton of power and yet made bold moves to move on from Alex Smith, Dorsey, and Sutton. most eagles fans would have predicted that none of those moves would have worked. Credit to the hunts for not letting Reid leave. But man, we don't have mahomes or veach if not for Andy reid.

I just reread my own story and it makes all these post Super Bowl videos and commentaries just so much more meaningful.

Watching that last episode of The Franchise was incredible.

I'm still on cloud 9 and a great high.

So True!!!! I am 44 and have lived out of state for the last 16 years. I lived 7 miles from Arrowhead. When I would see people in Chiefs gear where I live now, I knew they werent bandwagon, because who would root for the Chiefs if you were not from the area, or one of the connecting states. Same with my Royals gear. Only teams with lots of Superbowls have bandwagon fans. People would ask me after a devastating loss in the playoffs, since 2003, "How can you root for them when they rip your heart out like that all the time"? I always would tell them, I have to, that is my home team. But now, "Because Chiefs" has been replaced by Because Mahomes!!!!!

it’s the AFCCG game against QB Bob Griese and the Don Shula coached Miami Dolphins at Memorial Stadium, the last game ever played there

It was actually the divisional round, not AFCCG. I remember it vividly being a 10 year old kid sitting at my grandparents house on their hardwood floor...and yeah, i cried too!

I rewatched the first one today. Knowing how it ended made it that much better.
