Humpbacks are strictly plankton/krill feeders, with a maximum throat diameter of about 8 inches. It never had any intention of actually eating the diver. Basically an extreme case of mistaken identity.

It's not hard to believe. Sea life is pussy shit compared to land creatures. Minus the teeth they're mostly just soft tissue and cartilage. If you ever find yourself swallowed whole by something like that you beat the **** out of it's insides until it "rejects" you.
