It damn sure isn’t because of his coverage skills, speed or ability to make tackles in open space.

And I wish they'd quit starting stupid threads!

What did you expect?

How about all the missed tackles he has? Also he's not the player he was 2 years ago. He's past 30 now and he's giving up more and more plays while there are less splash plays.

He's never been great in coverage and has been picked on, without the splash plays though he's just a straight liability.

He’s alright. He’s a coaches son who plays faster than he appears.

Would somebody email Andy and ask him to tell Dan to start making tackles at the Line of scrimmage??

He's slow, a liability in coverage, misses tackles, and strangely out of position in a lot of plays. Although that last point might be because of Spags scheme being too complex.

If Thornhill is somehow worse than Sorensen right now, we are in deep, deep shit.

He has multiple wives and shares them with the coaching staff.

So, if he leads the team in tackles that means what you say here is not correct or the rest of the defense is worse than Dirty Dan. Please explain!

Dan has 30 tackles

Honey Badger has 15

But Dan is slow, out of position and misses tackles.

Last year Dan had 91 tackles (leading the team)

Honey Badger had 62

He misses a lot of important tackles that are the difference between a critical stop or a first down for the opponent.

I'm pretty sure he has a lot of tackles because of the nature of his position and the fact that the ball is thrown in his direction because he's slow.

Short version - he tackles a lot, but 99% of his tackles aren't valuable, and a lot of the ones he misses are extremely painful because they lead to 10+ extra yards for the opponent.
