No fumble- a chiefs player touched him as he was going down
|
That was not a fumble. He was touched by a Chief plus they blew the play dead.
|
Ref told Andy that he "gave himself up"

This is silly.

No. He didn't fumble.
|
Was that what Andy was asking about? Broadcasters thought he was asking about challenging an illegal formation, but I thought he was saying he fumbled. Andy would know you can't challenge illegal formation.

I believe he did fumble. He tripped on his teamate's foot, not a Chief. The problem is that the refs said he "gave himself up" making it not reviewable. That is BS. He never gave up. The Chiefs lost this game on their own mostly to Mahomes playing like ass, but there were so many missed calls in this game that you have to wonder what the real goal of the refs was.

When I look at the replay, it looks like all the players stop like they heard a whistle. Mixon probably only did what he did with the ball because the ref blew the whistle. The ref thought he was tackled. If no whistle is blown, Mixon doesn’t drop the ball. That’s just the way the play looks to me. I’m trying to see if Mixon makes a statement, you know some reporters will ask him what happened on that play. But, if no whistle was blown before he drops the ball, it’s puzzling why so many players on offense and defense stopped suddenly. Everyone is taught to keep going until they hear the whistle.

Let's not be Buffalo.

That should have been a fumble but THIS team did nothing to deserve being bailed out by the refs.

He pretty obviously gave himself up. He got up, dumped the ball and started celebrating. If ever a runner has "given themselves up", it would have to be here. Not a fumble.
