No kidding.

Brilliant of them to constantly involve Mahomes in these talks. It's what he deserves, honestly.

Is that Kansas City, Kansas or Kansas City, Missouri?

You know Pat has a good idea of what they want to do with that WR room now too.

They didn’t just tell him they’re going to trade Tyreek without telling him what their plan is to replace him.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall.

We've talked about Mahomes as being like Magic or Bird in the past. The guy is a brilliant scorer but he also knows how to distribute the ball. Things are only looking up from here for Patrick Mahomes.

Give me some of those quick passes that allow the WRs to get YAC.

I'm glad Patrick understands the reasoning behind trading Tyreek, but he is still going to miss him a great deal. Hill is the NFL's most significant game changer. Not just some regular good WR. Hill has been on the receiving end of most of the great "Mahomes Moments, " many of which wouldn't have happened without him.

Pairing him with Andy Wasn't just perfect from an X's and O's and scheme sense but also in temperament. They just both have that "It's all good - it'll all work out" attitude about them.

Crazy that Mahomes has acted like a 10 year vet the second he got to the NFL. But I also wouldn't overlook Veach here. His approach with Mahomes is great. It seems like there is a legit relationship between the two. It's not just a "Hey Pat, Tyreek wants Adams Money, we will keep you posted." It's more like here is the plan, this is our philosophy, and frankly I think that only makes Patrick better.

Which brings us to where he’s going to take his individual game next. Back from his wedding now, he’s working on it—and drilling a specific area that he has in the past, so he can be even more of a problem, and a better teammate, than he’s already been.

“I just want to continue to get better from within the pocket,” he said. “I think I’ll always be able to make plays happen outside the pocket. But when you have the offensive line that I have, I think there were times last year where I got too jittery in the pocket and put them in bad position. So being able to be better within the pocket, because knowing that’s a strength of our team, that offensive line, I think that’ll help our team in the long run.

This is essentially our best chance of remaining the elite team next year with everything in flux.

One more year of this offensive line working together with Mahomes could be big. We'll need a bit of 2018 Patrick going nuclear in order to hit 12-14 wins, I'm thinking, unless we really knock this rookie class out of the park like we did in 2021.

Otherwise we could be in for a tough 9-11 win season.

Didn’t read the whole article in the OP. Liked this….

Patrick Mahomes on how Tyreek Hill being traded can benefit the #Chiefs offense in 2022:

“I’ll be able to spread the ball around more this year and let these other guys make plays happen. … I think it’ll help our offense in a sense where they can’t just focus on Travis and Tyreek.”

He knows he caused some sacks last year. If he stayed where the OL expected him to be, he’d not taken a sack. But…… he’s brilliant when he improvises outside the pocket.

I wasn't sure I agreed with you until you posted it twice. Then I was all on board...:p

But seriously, of course he will miss Tyreek, but that's the NFL and he knows it, accepts it, and realizes the challenge brings opportunity. I love that about this kid.

Ha I've been bragging and pimping about this offensive line and there is Pat talking about trusting his offensive line and making himself better because he can trust his offensive line.

TREY SMITH IS GOING **** PEOPLE UP just an added bonus to my post.

He said the same thing last off season and was a point of emphasis in TC for him. It is going to be hard for him to not move out of the pocket and it just his natural tendency. Maybe when he is older and can't move as well that will change.
