The NFL ****ing loves to tweak tiny shit. Sometimes it's done in the name of a lofty principle (safety) and other times it's done to just be complicated and ****ing stupid (OT rules, uniform changes, "legal tampering" in the offeseason, etc.)

I am fine with the Lions on Thanksgiving because they brokered the contract with NBC to call the games. They earned it.

7th round draft picks don't matter either, but every team is still granted one every year. They don't randomly give some teams more picks in random years depending on who a committee of journalists believe should be in the HOF.

The idea should be that every team gets equal footing as much as possible, and from there, their individual roster moves, coaching, luck, etc. determine the best teams.
