Since the K is the fourth oldest stadium in the league if you leave out Fenway and Wrigley, it was not difficult to see coming.

Outside of two seasons where this franchise temporarily awoke from a 30 year coma, what have they done to deserve a new stadium?

In European soccer, they'd be relegated to the 4th tier by now.

Sad to see but not surprising. They're literally going to abandon one of the best stadiums in sports.

BWillie 11-15-2022 05:44 PM

**** yeah!

Those fountains in Raytown really are amazing

Rain Man 11-15-2022 05:47 PM

Is there a new stadium or will they play in a city park somewhere?

BWillie 11-15-2022 05:49 PM

I mean the thing was built in 1972 and people are bitching nonstop on Facebook about it

Its ****in 50 years old. Burn it to the ground

Jerm 11-15-2022 05:51 PM

It will be the beginning of the end of the Truman Sports Complex.

Thank god

The Chiefs and Royals deserve better

I've never loved the location for baseball and would be curious to know if a ballpark in a downtown or district location actually does help a ton when it comes to development around it, jobs, $$$, etc.

At least it's not like the Diamondbacks, who want to ditch their retractable-roof stadium with restaurants and what not after only 20 years.

KCUnited 11-15-2022 05:54 PM

Oh no!

Anyway

TLO 11-15-2022 05:54 PM

Kevin Kietzman just had a stroke somewhere

It was more of the ownership saying they would look at staying put. It was all bs. They have wanted to make an entertainment district. Dayton was against it, was one of the main reason he got ousted. They want to increase revenue year round.

Which I am not against. But spend your own damn money. This will be like the airport and we will get fleeced. it will also cause blight. He thinks you can have all these entertainment areas around KC?

City will get stuck with the bill. Je dunn will overcharge by 300 million and reap the rewards of buildings going up.

City should stipulate they own a 100% of the parking.
